1. Our Quotation

Unless stated otherwise in writing, our quotation does not include:

  • Customs duties, inspections, permits, tolls, congestion, or parking charges

  • Delays or circumstances beyond our control

  • Dismantling or reassembly of furniture or fittings

  • Disconnection or reconnection of appliances

  • Disposal or dumping of items

Our quotation may be revised if there are changes in inventory, property access, timings, or unforeseen circumstances.

2. Services Not Included

Unless agreed in writing, we do not undertake:

  • Disconnecting or reconnecting appliances, fixtures, or fittings

  • Accessing lofts or attics without safe and secure access

  • Dismantling or assembling items with specialist or custom fittings

3. Customer Responsibilities

As our valued customer, you are kindly requested to:

  • Be present (or appoint a representative) during the move

  • Provide accurate information regarding items, access points, and restrictions

  • Arrange parking within 25 metres of the entrance at both collection and delivery locations

  • Ensure no belongings are left in the vehicle after unloading

  • Notify us promptly of delays, access issues, or changes to the schedule

  • Cover applicable tolls, permits, or parking charges unless agreed otherwise

  • Provide a reachable mobile number if you will not be present

4. Delays and Waiting Time

  • Waiting time caused by the customer is charged at £67 per hour per vehicle, unless agreed in advance.

  • Optional additional charge: £25 per crew member per hour.

5. Payment Terms

  • Full payment is required before unloading or on the job day, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.

  • Goods may be retained in our vehicle(s) until full payment is received.

  • No interest is charged on overdue payments, but prompt payment ensures smooth service and valid insurance cover.

  • In cases of non-payment, Skyway Removals reserves the right to pursue recovery actions and withhold insurance coverage.

6. Insurance & Liability

Basic liability cover is included, but it will be void if:

  • The customer performs any part of loading/unloading

  • Items were not packed professionally

  • Payment has been withheld or delayed

Minor cosmetic marks (e.g., on flat-pack or veneered furniture) may not be covered. Claims cannot be accepted if Skyway Removals did not provide packing services.

7. Liability Exclusions

We do not accept liability for:

  • Loss or damage to valuables (jewellery, cash, documents, electronics)

  • Events beyond our control (delays, weather, acts of nature, vermin)

  • Items left behind due to unclear instructions or inaccessible areas

  • Damage/loss during customer-led loading or unloading

8. Cancellations & Postponements

  • Cancellations or rescheduling within 48 working hours of booking may incur a cancellation fee.

  • We aim to be flexible and appreciate early notice of changes.

9. Storage Terms

  • Our inventory list will be final unless disputed in writing within 18 days.

  • Storage charges must be paid in advance. Goods will not be released until cleared payment is received.

  • Rates may change with 21 days’ written notice.

  • We may request collection of stored items with 21 days’ notice. Uncollected items may be disposed of or sold to recover costs.

  • Customers must give 11 days’ written notice to terminate storage. A one-month storage fee may apply for early termination.

  • Our responsibility ends once items are collected by a third party on your behalf.

10. Disposal or Sale of Goods

If storage fees remain unpaid after 2 months’ written notice, Skyway Removals may sell or dispose of goods. Proceeds will cover outstanding charges, with any balance returned. No interest is payable on surplus funds.

11. Dangerous or Prohibited Items

We cannot transport or store:

  • Explosives, flammable substances, gas cylinders

  • Perishable goods, alcohol, tobacco, or infestation-prone items

  • Animals or living creatures

  • Refrigerated or frozen goods

  • High-value items (jewellery, money, electronics)

  • Cars, boats, caravans, or similar vehicles

  • Furs, perfumes, spirits, or wines

12. Working Conditions & Crew Policy

  • Our crew is entitled to a 15-minute break every 3 hours.

  • We do not remove shoes or enter lofts.

  • Customers cannot travel in our vehicles.

  • Our crew does not disconnect gas or electrical items.

  • The customer is responsible for guiding item placement at delivery.

  • Specialist manufacturer-fitted items will not be dismantled or reassembled.

13. Job Conditions & Additional Charges

  • Arrival times may vary due to traffic, weather, or other external factors.

  • Emergency overnight storage: £299 per vehicle, plus redelivery charges.

  • Disposal charge: £150 per half-tonne (approx.).

  • After-hours fees:

    • After 5pm (Mon–Fri): £24 per person per hour

    • After 5pm (Sat/Sun/Bank Holidays): £49 per person per hour

  • Additional charges may apply if access exceeds 20 metres.

  • Customer-requested waiting time: £69 per hour per vehicle.

  • Congestion charges and parking fines are passed on to the customer.

  • Customers must provide floor protection where required.

  • Minor wear or scratches may not be covered by insurance.

14. Right to Cancel or Refuse Service

Skyway Removals reserves the right to suspend or cancel services if:

  • Abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour occurs

  • Unsafe or hazardous conditions exist

  • Legal restrictions or emergencies arise

15. Dispute Resolution

Disputes may, by mutual agreement, be referred to the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. This does not affect your right to pursue court proceedings.

16. Subcontracting

We may subcontract part or all services. These Terms & Conditions still apply in full to subcontracted work.

17. Route and Method

We reserve the right to decide the method and route for transport. Unless agreed otherwise, consignments may share vehicle/container space.

18. International Removals

We can advise in good faith, but customers must confirm customs and legal requirements with relevant authorities.

19. Governing Law

  • If our head office is in England or Wales, the laws of England and Wales apply.

  • If our main office is in Scotland, Scottish law applies.

20. Forwarding Address

Customers must provide a valid forwarding address. If not, public notices may be published at the customer’s expense. Communications are deemed received 7 days after posting.

21. Inventory & Receipts

Our delivery inventory or collection receipt will be deemed accurate unless disputed in writing within 10 days.

22. Final Agreement

These Terms & Conditions, together with your quotation, form the entire agreement between you and Skyway Removals. Any amendments must be confirmed in writing. Verbal agreements are not binding.
